FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us.

Still not sure? Text us a photo and ask.

General

How do I know if I need a repair or a new roof?

It depends on the roof's age, how widespread the damage is and what is happening underneath. After an inspection we show you photos and explain which option makes sense, and why.

What happens during a roof inspection?

We check shingles or tiles, flashing, vents, gutters and the attic for signs of leaks. You get photos of anything we find and a plain-language summary.

Can I send photos instead of waiting for a visit?

Yes. Add photos to the quote form or text them to us. It helps us understand the problem before we come out.

Should I get my roof checked after a hurricane?

Yes, even if nothing looks wrong from the ground. Wind can lift shingles and crack tiles in ways you only see up close, and small gaps turn into leaks during the next storm.

What kinds of roofs do you work on?

Shingle, tile, metal and flat or low-slope roofs on homes.

How do I book an inspection?

Book online and pick a time that works for you. Inspections are 30 minutes, on weekdays from 8 to 5 Eastern. You can also call or text us.

Roof repair

Can you repair just part of my roof?

Often, yes. If the rest of the roof is in good shape, a repair to the damaged area is usually the right call. If the damage is widespread, we will show you why and talk through your options.

Will the repair match the rest of my roof?

We match the shingle, tile or metal on your roof as closely as we can. On older roofs an exact color match is not always possible, and we will tell you before we start.

Roof replacement

How do I choose between shingle, tile and metal?

It comes down to budget, the look you want and how long you plan to stay in the home. We explain the tradeoffs of each for your house and let you decide.

Do I need to be home during the work?

No, but we will walk the roof with you before we start and again when the job is done.

Roof inspections

How long does an inspection take?

Inspections booked online are 30-minute appointments.

Do I get a report?

You get photos of anything we find and a plain-language summary of what it means.

Storm and hurricane damage

Should I get my roof checked even if nothing looks wrong?

Yes. Wind damage is often only visible up close, and small gaps turn into leaks during the next storm.

Can your photos help with an insurance claim?

We document the damage with photos you can share with your insurance company. Decisions about your claim are up to your insurer.

Leak repair

My ceiling has a stain but no drip. Is that a leak?

Usually, yes. A stain means water got in at some point. It is worth finding the source before it gets worse.

Can you find a leak that only shows up in heavy rain?

Those are the trickiest, but we can usually trace them from the attic and the roof. Photos of when and where it drips help a lot.

Let's take a look at your roof.

Book an inspection online, call, or text us a photo. Whichever is easiest for you.
